THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER® BRAZIL LAUNCHES CASTING CALL FOR ITS THIRD SEASON

Tryouts to be held in Rio de Janeiro on Monday, November 11

Middleweights, light heavyweights and heavyweights invited to tryout

São Paulo - The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) will be hosting a casting call for the third season of its Brazilian reality TV show, The Ultimate Fighter®, on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Windsor Barra hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Tryouts will be open to middleweights ( -84 kg ), light heavyweights (-93 kg ) and heavyweights (up to 120 kg). This season’s coaches have not yet been confirmed. 

All candidates for The Ultimate Fighter Brasil should be between 18 and 35 years of age and have a minimum of three professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fights – holding a winning record (with verifiable records). Former UFC fighters are not eligible to participate. Applicants shall be responsible for all expenses involving their participation in the first stage of the tryouts. This includes such items as lodging, food and transportation.

Applications must be completed online http://br.ufc.com/tuf-application-brasil3, beginning October 9. Applicants must submit original documents. The UFC and the producers of the show reserve the exclusive right to select the fighters and the actual weight classes that will be featured this season.

Fighters will be required to grapple & hit pads. Please bring appropriate gear. 

*Applicants will be notified at the end of the tryouts if they have been selected to continue on in the casting process. If selected, applicants must be prepared to stay in Rio de Janeiro another three additional days. The production team will cover accommodation and flight change fees. However, the cost of a return ticket remains the responsibility of the applicant. 

The first season of The Ultimate Fighter Brasil, in 2012, featured middleweight and featherweights and was won by Cezar Mutante and Rony Jason, respectively. The second season of the Brazilian edition aired in March 2013, and crowned welterweight winner Leo Santos.

The Ultimate Fighter, which debuted in 2005, has launched the careers of more than 100 UFC fighters and has produced past champions such as Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping and Matt Serra. Currently in its 18th season in the United States, the show features for the first time ever men and women living in the same house.
