Biography
TRAINING: I wake up around 8AM and have breakfast. AT 10AM I'm at the gym for the first training session of the day. I train from 10AM to 12PM with my head coach Andre Dida and other UFC fighters like Netto BJJ, Cesar Goku, Sergio Moraes, Godofredo Pepey and Francisco Massaranduba. I get back home, have lunch, rest a little bit and go for cardio and endurance practice from 4PM to 5 PM. At night, I train jiu-jitsu with Sergio Moraes and Fernandinho Vieira. After this, I go home, have dinner, have a good sleep and get ready to do the same the next day.
When and why did you start training to become a fighter? I always liked martial arts, and I started because of a classmate. I started in Jiu Jitsu because I was a fan of the Gracies and I always liked to test myself and think that I could be a big gladiator.
What ranks and titles have you held? TUF Brazil featherweight winner, Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing black belt, orange belt in Judo. I was an eight-time Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil Jiu Jitsu champion, two-time Jiu Jitsu state champion in Rio Grande do Norte and once in Ceará, North-Northeast Jiu Jitsu champion, 3rd place at the Jiu Jitsu Pan American Games.
Do you have any heroes? My hero in cartoons is Naruto and in real life my mother and my brother.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means the transition from a dream to reality. It's believing that no matter what your dream is, if you believe and go after it, it will become reality.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to law school but stopped in the middle to focus on my training and realize my dream to fight in the UFC.
What was your job before you started fighting? I worked as a night guard.
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? I'm the current champion of Brazilian organization Max Fight.
