Biography
TRAINING: The usual day of training starts with a morning lift, run, and light technique. In the evening the primary focus is on sparring and a review of the day’s technique.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I always had a pedigree for fighting. I was a high school state champion and a college All-American on the wrestling mats. I started training for fighting a few years after graduating Iowa State University (about three years ago). Originally I started grappling just to stay in shape but within a few months I was hooked, not on just the grappling but the entire game of MMA. At the time I was using my business degree and working a sales job but I missed the physicality of athletics.
What ranks and titles have you held? I currently hold two belts. I am the Legends Casino Heavyweight Champion and the Cagesport Light Heavyweight Champion.
Do you have any heroes? As a child I was a G.I. Joe junkie. Now that I’m a grown man I can appreciate and respect all those who serve in our armed forces. My heroes are the American Special Forces, from Green Beret to Navy Seals. I have always respected and admired those who put their lives on the line for our country. I can relate more closely to Special Forces units because they put in an extra effort and commitment to be the best at what they do.
