Biography
TRAINING: A typical day of training for this fight is a little bit different from the last one. I am doing two to three workouts a day. Usually, I’ll wake at 4am and go run 5-6 miles and do some weights (depends on which day it is - legs or arms). Then it’s time to go to work at the gym I work at. I’ll get off work about 12:30 and then I’ll either go do a light workout or try to incorporate more swimming and do some laps. Nap time afterwards. Night workout starts about 5:30 for me. I’ll do some treadmill work, then we start the Bighead MMA cardio class, which will last about an hour, then coach teaches us the kickboxing, boxing, wrestling, BJJ for the day and we'll work it for like 45 minutes. After all that we usually get in as many rounds as we can, no less than six five minute rounds.
When and why did you start training for fighting? Eric Davila got me interested in MMA. I started fighting to test myself and I fell in love with the sport
What ranks and titles have you held? Shark Fights Bantamweight Champion
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream come true and all this hard work paid off!! It’s an honor to fight for the UFC and I don’t plan on going anywhere now that I’m here
What was your job before you started fighting? I’ve had a lot of jobs – I’ve worked at Sonic Drive in, Bighead MMA, Construction, etc.
Favorite grappling technique: Triangle Choke
Favorite Striking technique: Straight Left or Overhand Left
