UFC Teams Up with Boys & Girls Club

New Partnership Will Provide Wrestling and Training Resources for Local Youth

Las Vegas, Nev. ‒ The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) announced a new partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and the Ultimate Alliance to develop a grassroots sports program providing local youth the access and opportunity to excel in wrestling. The program will provide children the resources to develop techniques, fundamentals, and the mindset to perform successfully in the sport of wrestling as well as teaching discipline, focus, and accountability for daily life.

“The UFC is thrilled to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and the Ultimate Alliance to help provide young athletes in the region the necessary resources to succeed in the sport of wrestling and to maximize their fullest potential,” said UFC Vice President of Community Relations Reed Harris. “Participants of this program will be given exclusive instruction from the best wrestling and mixed martial arts athletes in the world as well as equipment and funding for practice and competition.”

Bryan Lindsey, Volunteer Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Ultimate Alliance, added, “Teaming up with the UFC and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada to coach, develop and mentor the youth of Nevada and the United States has been a vision of mine for years. We are all very excited to work closely together to grow the sport of wrestling to a level we have yet to see in the history of the sport.”

UFC stars and wrestling legends Matt Hughes and Daniel Cormier will serve as UFC Ambassadors of the Boys & Girls Clubs Wrestling Program. With their extensive careers in amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts, Hughes and Cormier are the perfect representatives to teach and educate the youth about the transformative potential of wrestling. The UFC will also support the program by conducting clinics with various athletes and providing financial assistance and training equipment.

The partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and the Ultimate Alliance represents a strong commitment from the UFC to help the local youth of Southern Nevada. Along with an extensive community outreach program, the UFC has continually built relationships with local organizations dedicated to making a positive impact in the local community. This new program will serve as a springboard for a national campaign that will ultimately provide the resources necessary to educate youth about the positive influence of wrestling.
