UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organisation and part of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), together with Blockasset, a web3 sports media network built on Solana that connects fans and athletes, today announced a new global marketing partnership that will showcase Blockasset branding within some of UFC’s biggest events where Blockasset will offer its community an unrivalled premium experience.
This partnership builds on Blockasset’s investment in MMA, where it has already partnered with UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis, UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, as well as many more athletes worldwide.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Blockasset as our official Digital Fan Interaction Partner,” said Nicholas Smith, Vice President of Global Partnerships for TKO. “Blockasset has a reputation for its state-of-the-art technology and work with some of the biggest stars in UFC. Together, we’re looking forward to enhancing UFC’s digital experience for fans.”
“This is a milestone for Blockasset. Working with UFC has been our north star since inception in 2021 and this dream has been made a reality by becoming the Official Digital Fan Partner,” said Bobby Evans, Co-Founder of Blockasset. “The partnership will unlock new access to experiences for our global community within UFC events worldwide.”
Joe McCann, Lead Strategic Advisor of Blockasset, stated: “Blockasset has a clear mission to create value for fans and athletes through blockchain technology. Now, as the Global Digital Fan Interaction Partner, they get the opportunity to deliver their innovative suite of products that complement UFC's brand and help drive more value to fans through Web3 technology.”
As UFC’s first-ever Official Digital Fan Interaction Partner, Blockasset will receive high visibility branding inside the world-famous Octagon during select Pay Per Views and Fight Nights, providing Blockasset with meaningful visibility before more than 700 million fans in 170 countries, as well as in an estimated 975 million households that receive UFC’s broadcasts.
Beyond the Octagon, UFC and Blockasset will collaborate on original content that will be distributed through UFC’s popular digital and social channels, which reach approximately 266 million users worldwide. Other creative integrations will focus on leveraging fan engagement and driving Blockasset brand awareness through a variety of activations that may include in-arena promotions, viewer sweepstakes, VIP experiences, and a brand ambassador program that will bring the partnership to life through appearances, content, and memorable campaigns with UFC athletes.
Blockasset will next activate the partnership around the action-packed UFC 303: PEREIRA vs. PROCHAZKA 2, which takes place this Saturday, June 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main event will feature current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira defending his title against former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka in an explosive rematch. UFC 303: PEREIRA vs. PROCHAZKA 2 will anchor the 12th Annual UFC International Fight WeekÔ, a celebration of combat sports that also includes the 2024 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and UFC X, the fully interactive, two-day fan experience.
