Two New for Toronto

Up-to-the-minute news about UFC 165, taking place Saturday, September 21st, 2013, in Toronto, Canada. Fights below have been verbally agreed upon and are subject to change.

The heavyweight scrap between TUF 10 castmates Matt Mitrione and Brendan Schaub -- bumped from this weekend's card because of an injury to Mitrione -- has been rebooked for UFC 165 in September.

That Toronto card will also play host to a lightweight bout between 20-0 Khabib "The Eagle" Nurmagomedov and No. 9-ranked lightweight contender Pat "Bam Bam" Healy.

One of Canada's top bantamweight prospects, Mitch Gagnon, goes after Dustin Kimura's perfect record at UFC 165. That event also features the interim bantamweight title fight between current beltholder Renan Barao and challenger Eddie Wineland.

The interim bantamweight title scrap between former WEC champ Eddie Wineland and current beltholder Renan Barao is behind schedule but still on track. The bout, which was scheduled as the main event of UFC 161 but bumped when Barao was injured, has been rescheduled for the co-main event of UFC 165 in Toronto.

The bout is now the second title fight on the Toronto card, with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defending his title against Alexander Gustafsson in the main event.

Two Canadians have also earned spots on the card. At welterweight, Ontario's Chris "The Menace" Clements will take on Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson. Plus, Toronto native Mark Bocek will face 16-1 Michel "Tractor" Prazeres in a lightweight bout.

Menjivar Takes on the "Kid" at 165

Two battle-tested bantamweights will finally meet in the Octagon at UFC 165, as Montreal resident Ivan Menjivar takes on Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto. Both veterans will be looking to rebound from defeats in their most recent bouts.

Plus, with his UFC on FOX Sports 1 - 2 bout against Derrick Lewis scrapped, Nandor Guelmino will now make his UFC debut against fellow newcomer Daniel Omielanczuk at UFC 165.

TUF Alumni to Square Off at 165

In a battle of TUF alumni, undefeated lightweight Myles Jury has agreed to meet Mike Ricci at UFC 165. Ricci will likely have the crowd on his side, fighting just a few hundred miles from his hometown of Montreal.

'Bones' Tasked with 'The Mauler' in Toronto

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones will defend his title against #2-ranked Swedish contender Alexander "The Mauler" Gustafsson at UFC 165 in Toronto, Canada on September 21.

The bout will be Jones' third title defense in Toronto; he also defeated Lyoto Machida at UFC 140 in December of 2011 and Vitor Belfort at UFC 152 last September in the Canadian city.

The bout has been building heat on Twitter with Gustafsson first tweeting "Its on @JonnyBones cant wait to get in that cage with YOU!!!" and Jones responding "Fighting me is not good for your image @AlexTheMauler FYI".

The two also shared an advance staredown in the crowd of a Russian MMA event last month.
