Thompson faces Masvidal at MSG

Two of the top welterweights in the world will square off in New York City on Nov. 4, as Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson battles Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal in a UFC 217 bout at Madison Square Garden.

No stranger to MSG, the No. 1-ranked Thompson battled current welterweight champion Tyron Woodley to a Fight of the Night draw there last November. Now, following a razor-thin decision loss to Woodley in their UFC 209 rematch, Thompson will try to make his case for another shot at the crown when he faces the No. 4-ranked Masvidal, who has won three of his last four bouts with victories over Donald Cerrone, Jake Ellenberger and Ross Pearson.
