Ross Pearson on FX 4

Ross Pearson and Cub Swanson are set to square off in a featherweight showdown at UFC on FX 4 on June 22 in Atlantic City, N.J. UFC officials notified MMAWeekly.com of the bout Thursday morning.Pearson (13-5) enters the fight coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Junior Assuncao at UFC 141 on Dec. 30 of last year. That bout was the British fighter’s debut at featherweight.Pearson made the move down to 145 pounds despite a respectable 4-2 run at lightweight following his emergence from the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter.Swanson (16-5) most recently defeated George Roop at UFC on Fox 2 in January. He is in his fifth year under the Zuffa regime, having fought several times for WEC when Zuffa purchased the promotion and moved it to Las Vegas. He is now 1-1 in the UFC, trying to build towards a title shot in a division thin on legitimate contenders to Jose Aldo.A lightweight battle between Gray Maynard and Clay Guida headlines the UFC on FX 4 fight card.
