The Octagon touched down in Louisville for just the second time in UFC history on Saturday, with eight preliminary card matchups setting the stage for the evening’s six-fight main card at the KFC Yum! Center.

It was another decision-heavy slate much like last weekend at UFC 302 in Newark, but there was plenty of action throughout those 15-minute battles, including a competitive back-and-forth between Montana De La Rosa and Andrea Lee and a dominant performance from two-time TUF winner Brad Katona.

Who Won Bonuses At UFC Louisville?

Dana White’s Contender Series grad Carlos Prates snapped the run of decisions with a punishing first-round finish before Ludovit Klein closed out the early slate with a one-sided victory over divisional stalwart Thiago Moisés.

Tomar, the first Indian woman to compete in the UFC, opened well, utilizing heavy kicks to the body to keep dos Santos on the outside. Over the next two rounds, dos Santos was the one pressing forward, leaving Tomar to counter while moving backwards. The two upped the output and intensity late in the fight, leaving the outcome in doubt when the final horn sounded.

The 115-pound fighters went the full 15 minutes, and when the scorecards were added up, it was Tomar that came out ahead, becoming the first Indian fighter to earn a win in the UFC. | Official Scorecards

Taylor Lapilus Post-Fight Interview | UFC Louisville
/

The French bantamweight took full advantage of his considerable reach advantage, picking at the veteran Stamann from distance over the first two rounds. Stamann was able to finally put Lapilus on the canvas in the third, but the 32-year-old avoided damage, worked back to his feet, and resumed sniping at “The Spartan” from range.

All three judges scored the fight in favor of Lapilus, who picked up his second win in three starts since returning to the UFC and moved to 20-4 overall with the victory. For Stamann, it’s a second consecutive setback and fifth loss in seven fights dating back to the summer of 2020. | Official Scorecards

Denise Gomes Post-Fight Interview | UFC Louisville
/

The 24-year-old threatened with a deep guillotine attempt right out of the chute, and landed the more significant strikes throughout the opening frame, working back to her feet quickly and without taking damage when Moura dragged her to the canvas. Moura had a little more success getting Gomes to the canvas in the second, but couldn’t capitalize at all, before the two battled through an exhausted third round where Gomes once again got the better of the entanglements.

For the third consecutive fight, the judges were tasked with determining the victor, and two of the three officials scored all three rounds for Gomes, giving her a split decision victory and return to the win column. Now 3-2 in the UFC, the 24-year-old remains an intriguing prospect to track in the 115-pound weight class. | Official Scorecards

Daniel Marcos defeats John Castañeda by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Dana White’s Contender Series grad Daniel Marcos arrived in Louisville undefeated and left Kentucky the same way after turning in a sharp performance against perennial tough out John Castaneda.

A member of the DWCS Class of ’22, Marcos dropped Castaneda early in the first and landed well down the stretch of the opening frame as well, continuing to snipe at the 32-year-old with crisp shots throughout the rest of the contest. Castaneda landed a late head kick that staggered Marcos, but he was able to avoid any follow-up damage and make it to the final horn.

Montana De La Rosa Post-Fight Interview | UFC Louisville
/

The opening round featured a little bit of everything, with De La Rosa threatening with a triangle choke early and Lee getting the better of the striking in the latter half of the round. De La Rosa got a little more creative with her attacks in the second to draw level before mixing things up with a key takedown in a competitive final frame.

When the tens and nines were totalled, it was De La Rosa that came out on the happy side of the split decision verdict, earning a measure of revenge after dropping the opening battle between the two while snapping her three-fight skid in the process. | Official Scorecards

Brad Katona defeats Jesse Butler by unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)

Two-time Ultimate Fighter winner Brad Katona turned in a solid all-around effort against Jesse Butler, showcasing the full complement of his game en route to a unanimous decision win.

The Canadian bantamweight dumped Butler to the canvas early in both the first and second rounds, landing a slicing elbow from top position in the second that left Butler leaking. After standing for much of the third, Katona took advantage of a late slip to finish things out by dropping heavy shots from top position.

Carlos Prates Post-Fight Interview | UFC Louisville
/

Throughout the opening round of his fight with Charles Radtke, Prates looked for the back knee to the body, attempting to target the liver. Late in the frame, after connecting with a left hand down the pipe, Prates stepped forward and buried the back knee into Radtke’s midsection, sending “Chuck Buffalo” straight to the canvas.

That’s now two finishes in two appearances for the talented Brazilian welterweight, who has earned nine straight victories and looks like an intriguing addition to the 170-pound ranks. | Official Scorecards

Ludovit Klein defeats Thiago Moisés by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Ludovit Klein continues to make waves in the lightweight division, closing out the prelims with a strong overall performance against Thiago Moisés to register his third consecutive victory and extend his unbeaten streak to six.

The 29-year-old Slovakian stung Moises early with a left high kick and caused him to stumble to the canvas late in the first with a clean left hand before mixing things up well to control the action in the second as well. This was the most impressive effort to date from Klein, a dominant effort against a divisional mainstay that has faced some of the top names in the lightweight ranks. Given his run of success since shifting to the 155-pound weight class, a date with a ranked opponent could be next for “Mr. Highlight” after the biggest win of his career. | Official Scorecards
