Stephanie Luciano defeats Talita Alencar by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Stephanie Luciano posted 10-8 scores in the third round of her first meeting with Talita Alencar last season on Dana White’s Contender Series, and picked up where she left off in the rematch on Saturday.

The young Brazilian was the more active and effective fighter throughout, keeping Alencar at range with her striking while doing a much better job defending the entries and takedown attempts of the multi-time Brazilian jiu jitsu world champion. Luciano exhibited good patience and movement throughout, picking her spots and showing a ton of promise while registering her first UFC victory.

After tapping out Billy Quarantillo in his return to the UFC earlier this year, “The Moroccan Devil” outclassed Jarno Errens on Saturday. As soon as Zalal dragged Errens to the canvas, he quickly worked to the back, securing hooks and then a body triangle as the Dutch featherweight rose to his feet. From there, Zalal attacked the choke, drawing out the tap before ever getting fully under the chin.

Jhonata Diniz collected his second UFC victory of the year and eighth straight MMA win overall on Saturday, picking apart Karl Williams in a smart, well-executed performance.

An accomplished kickboxer, Diniz was the more active and more effective of the two throughout the first two rounds, landing the better shots while mixing up his weapons well. After stinging Williams early in the third, the Brazilian was finally dragged to the canvas, but Diniz did well to keep Williams from chasing down the finish he needed.

Karol Rosa celebrated the five-year anniversary of her UFC debut by turning in the best performance of her career to date, battering Pannie Kianzad from the outset en route to a lopsided unanimous decision win.

The Brazilian attacked Kianzad’s lead leg early and often, hobbling the Iranian-born veteran before busting her up with strikes in the second. While Kianzad tried valiantly to hang tough and fire back, Rosa was unrelenting, mixing in some grappling in the third just to round out her the most complete effort of her UFC career.
