Thomas Petersen Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs Jandiroba

Peterson, who dropped his promotional debut to Jamal Pogues in February, looked much improved in his sophomore appearance, connecting more with his hands and doing well to make Usman miss far more than he did against Pogues. Rather than chasing takedowns non-stop, “The Train” was content to get the better of the exchanges on the feet and primarily engage in a striking affair, securing his second takedown in the waning moments of the fight.
The judges were called upon to determine the victor and all three saw things the same way, awarding Petersen the unanimous decision win and the first victory of his UFC career.
Luana Carolina defeats Lucie Pudilova by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Make it three straight for Luana Carolina, as the Brazilian mainstay wrapped up her second win of the year with a unanimous decision victory over Lucie Pudilova.

Luana Carolina Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs Jandiroba
/
Throughout the 15-minute affair, Carolina was the more active, more accurate striker of the two, opening a cut above the right eye of Pudilova in the first and keeping the Czech veteran off-balance for large stretches. While Pudilova refused to stop coming forward, she struggled to get inside and have consistent success, with Carolina doing well to put an intercepting strike in her path while offering greater variety throughout.
After securing a stoppage victory last time out, Carolina won this one on the scorecards, bringing her record to 5-2 over her last seven appearances and 6-3 overall in the UFC. For Pudilova, it’s a third straight loss after wining her return to the promotion two summers back in Salt Lake City.

Trey Ogden Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs Jandiroba
/
In every round, Ogden was able to take Radzhabov to the canvas and advance to a dominant position, taking the back in the first and working from mount in both the second and third. While he was unable to find a finish, the Marathon MMA head man did more than enough to salt away each frame and nullify the sporadic solid offense Radzhabov was able to deliver when he wasn’t stuck on bottom.
For the third consecutive fight, the judges' totals were needed in order to make things official, and for the third straight contest, they were unanimous in how they saw things. After coming into the year on a two-fight winless streak, Ogden has now earned consecutive victories to move to 18-6 overall.

Miranda Maverick Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs Jandiroba
/
Initially slated to face Tracy Cortez before she was pulled into last weekend’s main event on short notice, Maverick spent large portions of each frame working from top position against the Brazilian, shutting down her offensive looks while battering her with constant short offense. While Barbosa had some solid moments on the feet, Maverick was consistently able to get the fight to the canvas and control the action, as she showed sharp Fight IQ and an excellent job to follow the directions of her head coach Eliot Marshall.
All three judges gave Maverick the victory, with two of the three seeing the fight as a clean sweep for the 27-year-old. Now 5-1 over her last six and 7-3 through her first 10 UFC appearances, Maverick should get another Top 15 matchup next time out after a performance like this one.

Cody Gibson Submits Kelleher In Round 1 | UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs Jandiroba
/
From the outset, Gibson’s size and length looked to be an issue for Kelleher, as the Californian worked well from the outside and out-muscled “Boom” when the two got into the clinch. After dizzying Kelleher with an elbow in tight along the fence, Gibson slipped out of a guillotine choke attempt, worked to top position, and latched onto the arm-triangle choke, securing the tap soon after.
