Five Questions With Raphael Assuncao

Veteran Bantamweight Has One Box Left To Check Before Title Shot

All Raphael Assuncao does is win fights.

In his last dozen outings, only one fighter has had a better night than he has: current bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.

This is not lost on the Brazilian, who finds himself headlining Saturday's Fight Night Fortaleza card in his home country.

And just like the last time he fought in Brazil, Assuncao will be standing across from Marlon Moraes, just as he did at UFC 212. That back-and-forth battle was one of the highlights of the evening, and it marked the only loss of Moraes' UFC career.

None other than Dana White has confirmed that the winner of Saturday's tilt will be the next to face TJ Dillashaw for a shot at the belt, and that fact has figured heavily into everything Assuncao has done in preparation for the opportunity.

We caught up with him ahead of the ESPN+ event, and asked him about all of the above. Check out the clip below.
