Esparza Makes First Defense at UFC 185

March 14th's stacked UFC 185 card in Dallas is now a championship doubleheader as Carla Esparza defends her UFC strawweight title for the first time against Poland's Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event at American Airlines Center.

Tickets for UFC 185, which is headlined by the UFC lightweight title bout between Anthony Pettis and Rafael dos Anjos, will go on sale Friday, January 23.

Also added to the event is an intriguing lightweight bout between veteran strikers Sam Stout and Ross Pearson.

Long considered the top 115-pound fighter on the planet, California's Esparza proved it by running through the field on season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter and capping things off by submitting Rose Namajunas in December to win the show and the first UFC strawweight title. Poland's unbeaten Jedrzejczyk earned her shot at the belt with two impressive Octagon wins over Juliana Lima and Claudia Gadelha.

Hoping to bounce back from recent losses, Canada's Stout and England's Pearson will be expected to meet in the center of the Octagon and trade in what is a clear Fight of the Night candidate.
