EA Sports UFC 5 Content Update | October 2024

To celebrate the 1-year anniversary of EA Sports UFC 5, the community had the opportunity to vote for their own Alter Egos that will be featured in-game. With over 67,000 players participating, and thanks to the help of numerous UFC 5 content creators – more than 200,000 votes were cast within UFC 5 to curate a “Community Vote” Alter Egos Collection. These additions are a direct result of the passionate input from the MMA and video game communities, making this update a true celebration for UFC fans and gamers worldwide.

To start off the Community Vote Collection, we venture back to UFC 75, where Rampage Jackson and Dan Henderson had their “Champion vs Champion” showdown. With Henderson holding both the Pride 205 and 185-pound titles, and Rampage as the UFC light heavyweight champ, this unification bout was one for the ages. Fighting in London’s famous O2 Arena, the 29-year-old Rampage secured a unanimous decision victory, successfully defending his UFC belt for the first time. This victory not only secured his title, but also reinforced his reputation as one of the sports toughest competitors and a name to always remember.

The one. The only. “The Notorious” … Conor McGregor. This new Alter Ego from UFC 205 captures the moment McGregor made UFC history at Madison Square Garden in 2016. At just 28 years old, McGregor faced Eddie Alvarez in a fight that would make him the first-ever UFC double champ, holding both the featherweight and lightweight titles. The bout was highly anticipated, with one of the most intense build-ups in UFC history. On fight night, McGregor delivered a flawless performance, knocking Alvarez down three times in the first round before finishing him with a flurry of punches in the second. His speed, power, and precision were on full display, and the event shattered records, setting the biggest gate in UFC at the time. The performance solidified McGregor’s legacy as one of the most iconic fighters to ever enter Octagon.

Fast forward to UFC 226, and we have Daniel Cormier’s new Alter Ego, celebrating his historic move up to the heavyweight division. Cormier would face UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in his heavyweight debut, which would ultimately be the first bout of their iconic trilogy. Already a UFC light heavyweight champion, Cormier left UFC 226 a two-division champ, as he knocked out Miocic in the first round to claim the UFC heavyweight title. This victory made Cormier the second fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously, cementing his status as one of the sport’s greatest champions.

Next up, at UFC 244, we crowned the first official UFC “BMF” in Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal. Riding the momentum from his record-setting five-second knockout of Ben Askren, Masvidal squared off against none other than Stockton’s finest, Nate Diaz. Masvidal would secure the first ever UFC BMF title with a dominant performance over Nate Diaz, controlling the fight from start to finish. After three rounds of action, the bout was ruled a TKO via doctor’s stoppage, awarding Masvidal the newly minted title. This win catapulted him into a title shot for the UFC welterweight championship, further elevating his legacy.

Charles Olivera's journey as UFC lightweight champion officially began at UFC 262, where he claimed the vacant title in a fight of the night against #4 ranked Michael Chandler. Overcoming early adversity in the first round, Olivera showcased resilience and striking power, securing a TKO victory less than 20 seconds into round two. This win marked the start of his championship reign, which he solidified by defending the belt against top-tier opponents such as Dustin Poirier and Jusitn Gaethje. Oliverira’s dominance during this period has etched his name as one of the biggest fan favorites in UFC history.

Matt Frevola UFC 5

In addition to the Community Voted Alter Egos, the newest additions to the UFC 5 roster bring a fresh wave of talent, explosiveness, and excitement to the game. Starting strong, in the lightweight division, is Matt “The Steamrolla” Frevola. Known for his aggressive fighting style, Frevola holds an 11-5-1 record, featuring 4 knockout victories and 3 submissions. Frevola is determined to make a statement in the highly talented division as he continues to climb his way back up the rankings. With 6 first-round finishes under his belt, he is sure to be an exciting addition to the ever-expanding in-game roster.

Sharabutdin Magomedov UFC 5

Alongside Frevola comes one of the most anticipated UFC prospects, Sharabutdin “Bullet” Magomedov. Undefeated with a perfect 14-0 record, Magomedov is known for his explosive kicks and dominant finishes, with 11 knockout victories to his name. Having honed his skills in promotions from around the world, this middleweight is ready to showcase his talent in UFC against the world's best, on the world’s biggest stage. As he gears up for his UFC 308 showdown against Armen Petrosyan, Magomedov has his eyes set on breaking into the middleweight rankings and improving to 4-0 in UFC.
