Conor McGregor was sound asleep as rumours spread that Jose Aldo would pull out of their featherweight title fight this weekend.
'My coach came in and woke me up,' the Dubliner recalled. 'He said, 'Hey Conor, it looks like Jose's out; it's going to be [Chad] Mendes.'
'I opened one eye and said, 'They are all the same' and went back to sleep. That was that, it makes no difference.'
McGregor, who has been living in a Las Vegas mansion for 12 weeks in anticipation of facing the champion, will now face Mendes for the interim UFC title.
The winner is then expected to face Aldo to unify the belts later this year although McGregor has his doubts.
