Antonio Trocoli Steps In To Face Ikram Alieskerov In Vegas
A Change To A 3-Round Middleweight Bout At UFC Vegas 93
After middleweights Ikram Aliskerov and Andre Muniz saw their matchup go by the wayside when an injury forced the Brazilian out of the fight, Antonio Trocoli answered the call and will face Aliskerov in Las Vegas at UFC Fight Night: Perez vs Taira.
Aliskerov, who boasts a 3-0 record with three finishes in the Octagon, has had some poor luck getting consistent fights but has dazzled when he has stepped onto the canvas. The 31-year-old was due to fight Muniz in a bout that certainly would have put him much closer to the top-15 at 185 pounds, but instead is now set to face a UFC debutant in Trocoli.
Trocoli, a 33-year-old Brazilian, built a 12-3 record on the regional scene before this opportunity presented itself. He got out to an 8-0 start in his career before dropping a trio of fights, but he bounced back with three wins in a row to get the UFC call. He had also been booked to fight Ovince St. Preux and Oumar Sy at different points in the last two years, but after years of waiting, he gets his chance to make the vaunted Octagon walk.
UFC Fight Night: Perez vs Taira goes down at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on June 15.
