Owner of three consecutive knockout victories, former Ultimate Fighter competitor Sam Alvey wil put his winning streak on the line on August 8 in Nashville against fellow middleweight standout Derek Brunson.
The UFC Fight Night card, which is headlined by the light heavyweight bout between Ovince Saint Preux and Glover Teixeira, will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 from the Bridgestone Arena.
After losing his UFC debut to Tom Watson in August of 2014, TUF 16's Alvey has been on a tear with finishes of Dylan Andrews, Cezar Ferreira and Dan Kelly. Now he will face a fighter on a hot streak as well in former Strikeforce contender Brunson, who is 4-1 in his last five, with recent wins over Lorenz Larkin and Ed Herman.
