When and why did you start training for fighting? Still felt like I had more in the tank after my college wrestling eligibility ran out. Started striking and learning new things after a decade of sprawling and hand fighting. It was so refreshing, and I couldn't get enough.
What ranks and titles have you held? Caged Aggression amateur champ, Dynasty Combat Sports amateur champ. NCAA D3 All American, NJCAA National Finalist, NCWA National Finalist
Who is your favorite fighter and why? I don’t have a favorite but if Justin Gaethje is fighting I’m usually tuning in
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? To fight? Not much. To win? Have success, multiple contracts, to not just be a flash in the pan? That would be vindication of spending more years and hours on learning this sport versus what I spent on my college degree.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I earned a degree in Geography with a concentration in environmental science and minor in biology from the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse in 2019
What was your job before you started fighting? I did construction during my college summers and bar work while in school. I took my last college final and hopped in my car to drive to my first amateur fight weigh in. I worked with my degree as a GIS technician for a few years while training before switching to bartending so I could train more.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Caged Aggression amateur champ, Dynasty Combat Sports amateur champ. NCAA D3 All American, NJCAA National Finalist, NCWA National Finalist
What do you consider to be the key fight in your career? My second pro fight. took it on hours notice and grinded through a decision for the first time in my career. Proved I still had grit.
If any, list ranks in any martial arts styles: Brown belt in BJJ
Favorite grappling technique: Kimura
Favorite Striking technique: Head kick
Origin of nickname: “Coaches gave it to me and it fit like a glove.”
Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I like hunting deer, trying to catch fish, kayaking down the Milwaukee River and collecting hubcaps out of it. Also I enjoy doing crosswords on my porch couch in the warm months.
What is one thing you want UFC fans to know about you? Win or lose you can catch me on the dance floor afterwards.
