When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training when I was 13. My dad took me in, trying to give me a lesson that I shouldn’t get in fights because there’s people that are trained, and instead of getting me scared, I fell in love with the sport and made it my career.

Training: Run in the morning, MMA practice, Jiu-Jitsu practice

What ranks and titles have you held? Combate Americas lightweight champ, blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu

Do you have any heroes? God is my hero

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means a lot because I get to show my skills on the biggest stage for MMA

What was your job before you started fighting? I used to work for a seed company in the Imperial Valley. I would deliver vegetable seed to all the ranches in the valley area.

Favorite grappling technique: Chokes

Favorite Striking technique: Overhand
