When and why did you start training for fighting? I took some boxing classes in 2012, but just for fun. I didn't take it seriously until I finished my schooling. I was very focused on that until I finished. In 2015 I got into the working life and I started fighting while I was working.

What titles have you held? LFA strawweight title.

Who is your favorite fighter and why? Alexander Volkanovski, I think he is very aggressive and smart when he fights, and he is a great human outside the octagon too.

Do you have any heroes? My mom is my biggest hero in life, she raised my brother and me alone through adversity and gave us the best example.

What would it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means that dreams can be possible. I thought this was something completely impossible, but I kept trying and trying. And today I am here, and I came to stay.

What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career? My first defeat taught me a lot about myself as a fighter. It freed me from a great burden that came with that undefeated record, and that made me reborn and mature in my knowledge of martial arts.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, I have a Psychology degree.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was working in a restaurant as waitress.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: BJJ Purple belt

Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? The desire to fulfill the plan that God has for me, my family and the new generation of Venezuelan fighters who need inspiration and guidance.

Favorite grappling technique: Guillotine

Favorite Striking technique: Uppercut

Tell us about your life outside of fighting: My family is my rock, my dog Nala is my best friend and we’ve been together for 14 years, moving around different countries. I love music, sign, go to concerts, enjoy live musicians playing. I like to teach MMA seminars and traveling.

What is one thing you want UFC fans to know about you? So the idea behind my nickname “La Fiera” is more than just fighting inside an octagon; it means having that fighting fire and giving our best at everything we do in life, while helping others in the process.
