When and why did you start training for fighting? I’ve been training since a young age. I was always running the mountains, and since a young age I was getting prepared. I started training for fighting in 2017.
What ranks and titles have you held? Kyrgyz MMA champion, Bator FC Grand Prix champion
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything for me to fight in the UFC. This is my moment, and this is all I’ve been training and preparing for my whole life. When a dream becomes a plan, it happens.
What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career? My debut in the UFC was the most important fight in my career, I step on 4 days short notice. I didn’t want to lose, my whole country was watching me, I was the first fully blooded Kyrgyz fighter in the UFC and this win was the most important for me.
Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? To show the right path for the younger generation, fighting is not the most important. The way you carry yourself is the most important
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have a law degree from Kyrgyzstan University.
What was your job before you started fighting? I never had a job.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I am a former amateur world champion in MMA
Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I love horses, I love to play KokBuru. I love reading books
What is one thing you want UFC fans to know about you? I’m a mountain humble fighter, I came across the world to America, just to be in the UFC. UFC changed my life and gave me a dream that I’ve been chasing for a long time. Everything is possible. When I started my career my coach and me had the same vision. To be in the UFC, and god gave me this opportunity.
