Q&A

TRAINING: I usually get up and hit pads with coach, then train MMA or do strength and conditioning. I come back in the evening and train again, either MMA or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I was always interested in boxing and would go watch local boxing fight nights with my friends. Someone suggested we go watch MMA, so I went and picked up tickets for a local MMA event and the person I spoke to was a coach/gym owner and we got to talking. He said I should come in, have a try and see if I like it. I didn't at first, but a few months later I decided “why not” and fell in love.

What ranks and titles have you held? Invicta FC Featherweight Title.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? My team and I have known that the UFC is where I belong for a long time, so to be able to finally fight inside the UFC Octagon is just another day at the office for us. The UFC is the pinnacle of this sport and it's an honor to finally fight and show the world what I'm capable of.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I've went to university twice. I studied Bachelor of Arts (History/English double major) and Bachelor of Information Technology. I've yet to complete either degree, though. Studying was not for me.

What was your job before you started fighting? I had a lot of different jobs but I was mainly doing administration/receptionist work.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Favorite Striking technique: Right hand / Knees / Kicks
