When and why did you start training for fighting? I started to train jiu-jitsu when I was 12 years old, after a while I started training Judo. I have always loved this fight world, and my dream was to become a fighter since I was a child.

What ranks and titles have you held? Brazilian wresting champion in 2009, bronze medal in Brazilian Nationals in 2010, bronze medal in College Olympics in 2014, Champion of Mr. Cage Championships in MMA at 135 pounds. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, judo black belt

Who is your favorite fighter and why? José Aldo, because he is a champion not only inside the Octagon, but outside of it as well. He had a difficult childhood, overcame everything, and became the greatest featherweight champion in UFC history.

Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? My heroes are my parents. My father and mother always did everything they could so I could follow my dream of becoming a fighter.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? A dream coming true

What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why?  The fight against Sara McMann was very important for my growth and development as an athlete inside the UFC.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I attended law school but didn’t graduate.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was attending law school but quit in order to train.

Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? I think one of the biggest fights for women is the fight against sexual harassment, which is becoming more frequent, and we cannot allow this to continue happening.

Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? Money has never been my main motivation. Of course it’s important, and I would be lying if I said it wasn’t, but what has always motivated me is the dream of becoming a great fighter and making my family and everyone who loves me proud.

Favorite grappling technique: Takedown

Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I have two dogs, Bella and Mel. My hobbies are playing video games and watching series and movies.
