Q&A

When and why did you start training for fighting? I did Judo when I was a kid, and I also did kung fu and karate when I was a teenager. After that I started training BJJ. I’ve been involved with martial arts since I was a child.

What ranks and titles have you held? Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. My main titles in BJJ are three-time World Cup champion, two-time World Champion, Pan American champion 2006, ADCC champion 2007, ADCC 2nd place in 2005, Brazilian champion, 7x state champion, 4x Brazilian team champion.

Do you have any heroes? Rickson Gracie.

What is your favorite technique? Submit my opponent without him hurting me or me hurting him.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? A dream

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I did finish my college in 2001. I have degree in journalism

What was your job before you started fighting? I was always teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
