When and why did you start training? I started training in 2021. After COVID, my opportunity to play in the CFL fell through. My agent, who was the CEO of First Round Management, encouraged me to pursue mixed martial arts, and I committed to it.
Who are your main training partners? Impa Kasanganay, Gregory Rodrigues, and Nassourdine Imavov.
Who is your favorite fighter and why? Petr Yan. I love the way he blends boxing and wrestling together.
Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? Jesus Christ
What are your current ranks in martial arts? White belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I also have backgrounds in wrestling, boxing, and kickboxing.
Specific accomplishments in professional competition? I'm 6-0 as a professional with four knockout victories.
What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career? My split decision win over Omar El Sallah in my third professional fight. It taught me that if I'm not motivated to dominate, I put myself at risk of losing. It was also the only fight of my career that didn't end in a finish, and it changed the standard I hold myself to every time I compete.
Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? To spread the Good News of the Gospel. I believe we are all separated from God by sin and in need of a Savior. Through Jesus Christ, God offers the free gift of grace to all who repent, believe, and answer His call. My greatest desire is to use my platform to point people to Him.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes. I attended Florida International University (FIU), where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Marketing.
What was your job before you started fighting? I worked as an Academic Coordinator at Florida International University. I left my position on July 10, trusting that I'd be employed by the UFC on August 12. It was a step of faith and a commitment to chasing my dream of becoming the best fighter in the world.
Favorite grappling technique: A bear hug with my chin buried in my opponent's sternum. It's simple, effective, and miserable to deal with.
Favorite Striking technique: An uppercut to the chin followed by a left hook to the dome. If the uppercut doesn't get your attention, the hook usually does.
Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I enjoy spending time outdoors—just sitting in nature, praying, reading Scripture, and appreciating God's creation. That's where I feel the most at peace.
Do you have any pre-fight rituals or superstitions? Starting with my last fight, I began cutting my hair before every fight. For me, it's symbolic. It's my way of preparing like a soldier going to war. It's part of stepping into the mindset of "War Time Wint"—fully focused, disciplined, and ready for the mission ahead.
What is 1 thing that you want UFC fans round the world to know about you? I plan on winning on August 11 in dominant fashion. But if I fight long enough, there will come a day when my hand isn't raised. That's the reality of this sport. Titles fade, records change, and every fighter eventually reaches that moment.
But one thing will always remain: I serve a God who has never failed, will never fail, and, most importantly, cannot fail His people. My prayer is that when people watch me compete, they don't just remember the victories—they remember the faithfulness of God. Long after my fighting career is over, He will still be on His throne, still keeping His promises, and still calling people to Himself. That's the legacy I want to leave.
