UFC FIT Launches in the UK at GYMBOX

With a skillset that includes five Olympic sports, Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters are arguably the most well rounded athletes in world sport. Now with the launch of UFC FIT™, you can reach this elite level of fitness.

Starting on 1st March 2014, the UFC FIT classes will be available at all branches of UK gym group GYMBOX – where their larger than life instructors will help you channel your inner fighter. Developed by Mixed Martial Arts guru Mike Dolce, UFC FIT is a full-body intensity training and lifestyle program based on the same methods used by fighters preparing for a night in the Octagon™.

Designed to build strength, burn body fat and increase flexibility and endurance, UFC FIT has seen great success globally since launch – meaning UK fitness gurus of all shapes and sizes can look forward to a class that packs a punch. The UFC FIT program is broken into four, three-week segments, with a focus on building a solid foundation in the early phases to develop strength, flexibility and conditioning that will be drawn upon in later phases. UFC FIT teaches techniques with the proper volume and intensity to force consistent progression so that with each session, you get better.

A celebrated training coach, best-selling author and former mixed martial artist, Dolce has earned his reputation as the greatest conditioning and nutrition expert in the sport, helping top contenders including Johny Hendricks (no.1 welterweight contender), Gray Maynard (two time challenger), Michael Bisping (top middleweight contender) and Ronda Rousey (current UFC Women's Champion) prepare for competition.

Now, for the first time in the UK, Mike Dolce shares the knowledge and techniques that have turned athletes into champions in this hardcore training program.

Mike Dolce said:

“The methods you’ll see in UFC FIT are the same ones I’ve used with the top athletes in the UFC, but I actually developed them for men and women of all ages. I used to be a big guy, I had elevated blood pressure, my cholesterol was high and I had sleep apnea.

Using the principals I share in UFC FIT, I dropped 45kg and now I'm down to five percent body fat. UFC FIT is a fun, challenging program developed for everyone and every fitness level. We all deserve to be lean, to feel confident and to be healthy.”

Garry Cook, EVP and MD of UFC EMEA said:

"We are delighted to launch UFC FIT to the European market, starting with the UK and our partner GYMBOX. This is just the beginning of extending our brand to wider group of consumers and changing the landscape of personal fitness.

There is huge demand for a tailored fitness program like UFC FIT and we are excited to have Mike Dolce and the team bring his expertise to the UK."

David Cooper from GYMBOX said:

"We make sweating enjoyable and what better way of doing that than helping people transform into strong, flexible and well-conditioned athletes  – without any of the hard knocks you get in the Octagon.

"We've got a wealth of combat based classes available to our members, so the partnership with UFC is a natural fit and one we can't wait to implement."
