One Night Only - Mir Travels to Strikeforce to Battle Cormier

A heavyweight superfight is on tap for this fall, as two-time UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will enter the Strikeforce cage for one night only to battle recent Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier. The bout will take place at a to-be-announced event in October or November.

The unbeaten Cormier is fresh from a dominant win over another former UFC champ in Josh Barnett, and in his final Strikeforce bout before moving to the UFC, the two-time Olympian will be looking to make a statement against Mir, who is coming off a UFC title fight with Junior dos Santos in May.

More details on this clash of the heavyweight titans, including date and site, will be announced in the coming weeks.
