Garbrandt-Dillashaw and more set for UFC 217 card at MSG

Following a historic UFC 205 event last November, the UFC will return to Madison Square Garden on Nov. 4 with another stacked card for New York City fans.

On Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight on FS1, six bouts were announced for UFC 217.

In a highly anticipated clash for the UFC bantamweight title, former teammates and rival Ultimate Fighter coaches will finally meet, as Cody Garbrandt defends his crown against TJ Dillashaw. The reigning king at 135 pounds, Garbrandt will put his unbeaten record and the title he won from Dominick Cruz on the line against former champion Dillashaw, who has defeated Raphael Assuncao and John Lineker on his quest to regain the belt.

In a middleweight battle, former 170-pound champion Johny Hendricks will look to stop the rise of Brazilian power hitter Paulo Borrachinha.

Top 15 heavyweights will meet in the Big Apple this fall, as No. 11-ranked submission master Aleksei Oleinik faces No. 15-ranked rising star Curtis Blaydes.

At 135 pounds, two top prospects meet up when Aiemann Zahabi takes on Ricardo Ramos, and in the light heavyweight division, two bouts were made official as Corey Anderson meets Patrick Cummins and Gadzhimurad Antigulov squares off with Ion Cutelaba.
