UFC Macao Post-Fight Presser and Bonus Recap

Read below to find out who took home Fight Night bonuses at UFC Macao...

Fight of the Night went to Takanori Gomi and Mac Danzig. The two lightweight strikers engaged in a back-and-forth brawl that was contested mostly on the feet. Both fighters found success at times during the fight, and it showed in the result: a split decision awarded to Gomi. With the win, "The Fireball Kid" improves to 2-0 in 2012.

Thiago Silva took home Submission of the NIght for his third-round stoppage of the previously undefeated Stanislav Nedkov. After falling behind on the scorecards, Silva came alive in the final frame, wearing down his opponent with strikes before securing a takedown. Once on the ground, Silva applied a head-and-arm choke that forced a quick tap from Nedkov.

Headliner Cung Le earned Knockout of the Night for his brutal first-round KO of Rich Franklin. As Franklin lunged in with a looping hook, Le landed a perfectly timed short punch that sent Franklin crashing to the mat. For his performance, Le earned his second Fight Night bonus in three Octagon appearances.

All bonused fighters received $40,000 for their efforts.

Main card winners Cung Le, Thiago Silva, Dong Hyun Kim and Jon Tuck attended the post-fight press conference, answering questions from local and MMA media. Chinese fighter Tiequan Zhang also participated in the conference, which was led by Managing Director of UFC Asia, Mark Fischer.
