The Fighters' Guide to Boston Food

UFC and WEC fighters who live in Boston give their recommendations about where to go while you're on their turf.

Heading to the UFC Fan Expo in Boston on August 27 and 28? While you're there, you're gonna have to eat, so you've got two options - eat like a tourist or dine like a native.Should you chooes the latter, here are some fighter suggestions.

Joe LauzonJoe Lauzon
"Pizzeria Regina (1 Faneuil Hall Market Pl Boston, MA): Ridiculously good pizza and it's walking distance of the venue. And Bova's Bakery in the North End (134 Salem Street Boston, MA): When the fights get out at 1am and everything else is starting to close, head on over to Bova's because they never close. They are open 24/7 and have the best cannoli you will find anywhere. In college when it was 3am, this was the spot to head to when you were starving."

Gabriel GonzagaGabriel Gonzaga
"The Copley Place is a mall at 100 Huntington Avenue in Boston's Back Bay with beautiful people, good food and shopping. The Palm restaurant at Copley Place on Dartmouth is good. Newbury Street in Boston is a good street with all sorts of shopping, bars and restaurants."

Alex KaralexisAlex Karalexis
"The one must-eat restaurant is Union Bar and Grille in the South End. It's gorgeous and somewhat expensive but worth every penny. It was also the first job where I was lead carpenter. I've taken Chuck Liddell there and even he was impressed."

Jorge RiveraJorge Rivera
"I love Legal Seafoods and Davio's -- both are the best... Check 'em out for sure."

Kenny FlorianKenny Florian
"Some of my favorite places to eat are Lo Conte's, Mike's Pastry, Grill 23, Redbones and No 9 Park."

Marcus DavisMarcus Davis
"Tourists eat on Hanover Street in the North End. The locals who know eat on Salem Street. The Irish Hand Grenade eats at Lo Conte's on Salem in the North End. Last time there I had lunch and chicken marsala was $10.95. Can't beat it! Also the NewBridge Cafe in Chelsea. It's a bit out of the way and seems like a hole in the wall but they have the best steak tips -- period!"
