Lawler-Condit to Headline UFC 195

Fight fans held their collective breath when it was announced that UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler had sustained a thumb injury that forced him out of his UFC 193 main event against Carlos Condit.

But luckily, the injury won't be serious enough to keep "Ruthless" Robbie from a January 2 date in Las Vegas, as he will now meet Condit in the main event of UFC 195 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, keeping one of MMA's most highly-anticipated bouts intact.

Owner of the sport's greatest comeback story of recent years, Lawler has won seven of eight bouts since returning to the UFC in 2013, including a December 2014 victory over Johny Hendricks that earned him the UFC welterweight title. In his first defense, Lawler stopped Rory MacDonald in the fifth round of an instant classic, and more fistic mayhem is expected against former interim UFC and WEC champion Condit, who is coming off a second-round stoppage of Thiago Alves in May.
