Jamie Pollack believes UFC 180 launch in Mexico had 'perfect storm' with Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum

"Behind yesterday's launch of UFC 180 in Mexico City in mid-November there has been a juggernaut in the planning and with Cain Velasquez as the UFC's heavyweight champion, indeed the first Mexican heavyweight champion, and a challenger in Spanish-speaking Fabricio Werdum, it created the perfect storm.

 

"On Tuesday, backing up the start of the TUF Mexico series - itself expected to be a smash hit with fans with its tapestry of fighters from nine countries involved - a crack card outlined in Mexico City, in front of fans, simulcast in Spanish and English. A united nations event.

 

"The card looks a thriller, headlined by the top two heavyweights in the world, and a set of thrilling match-ups, which includes:

 

Marcus Brimage vs Eric Perez

Dennis Bermudez vs Ricardo Lamas

Norman Parke vs Diego Sanchez
