Andrei Arlovski Returns to the UFC in June

Former heavyweight champ Arlovski is back in the Octagon at UFC 174 in June

Last week, welterweight contender Thiago "Pitbull" Alves returned from a two-year layoff with a Fight of the Night win over Seth Baczynski. In June, another renowned "Pitbull," former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, will be back in the Octagon for the first time since 2008.

UFC President Dana White made the announcement of Arlovski's return Thursday on Twitter. Friday, Arlovski verbally agreed to face Brendan Schaub in a UFC 174 main card showdown on June 14 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The king of the UFC heavyweight division from 2005 to 2006, Arlovski's 10-4 Octagon slate includes wins over Vladimir Matyushenko, Tim Sylvia, Paul Buentello, Fabricio Werdum, and Jake O'Brien.

In his absence from the promotion, the 35-year-old Belarus native has added eight more wins to his 21-10, 1 NC record, defeating the likes of Roy Nelson, Ben Rothwell, and Mike Kyle
