Hard-hitting light heavyweight Alessio Sakara and TUF2 finalist Brad Imes will both make their return to the Octagon on Saturday, November 18th when they face off against quality opposition at UFC 65: Bad Intentions.
These bouts, part of an exciting nine bout card headlined by the heavyweight title bout between Tim Sylvia and Jeff Monson and the UFC welterweight championship rematch between Matt Hughes and Georges St. Pierre, will air live on pay-per-view from the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California. Sakara (14-4, 1 no contest) will look to rebound from his first UFC loss in May to Dean Lister when he takes on American Top Team’s Wilson Gouveia (7-4) in what should be an exciting standup battle. Said Sakara of his comeback, “A warrior must not only be capable of winning, but must be able to get back up after losing a battle. On November 18, my battle will be won.”
The 6-7 Imes (5-2), a relative newcomer to mixed martial arts who nonetheless has made great strides in his game since his appearance on season two of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, has found it impossible to be in a boring fight, as his wars with Rashad Evans and Dan Christison have shown. In UFC newcomer Antoni Hardonk (4-2), Imes will have his hands full with the Holland native, who holds a blue belt in jiu-jitsu under Rickson Gracie and has trained under kickboxing star Ernesto Hoost.
