POLAKOWSKI THE HUGGER…
Polakowski’s hugging really didn’t get annoying for me. For some people it might have, but he’s a nice guy and the hugging thing was just something he liked to do. It actually put me in a good mood, but it was sorta awkward when I would wake up at seven in the morning and the first thing I would wake up to was a hug from Polakowski. But I couldn’t get angry at him, and it’s not an act – he’s a genuine guy and I like him.
…JUST DON’T MESS WITH HIS LUCKY CHARMS
When he got angry about people messing with his Lucky Charms, it really surprised me. He’s one of those guys that I never saw in a bad mood, but it was more funny than anything because of what he got mad over. What happened was that every morning that he ordered Lucky Charms, they would take the marshmallows out and put them in another bag. I don’t think anybody expected him to get that mad over it, but he wouldn’t give anybody any hugs after that. But I made sure I went out of my way to let him know that it wasn’t me messing with his Lucky Charms.
ROOP’S HAND
I think Roop hurt his hand around a week, week and a half out from his fight, and it was hard for him to train. I was surprised he was able to use it as much as he did in the fight because in practice he couldn’t do nothing with it. You can’t really just practice kicks a week and a half out from a fight – it’s really hard. I’ve never really been in that situation; I think it happened once when I was an amateur, but I was so much better than everyone I fought that I think I could have went in there in a wheelchair and won.
ROOP VS POLAKOWSKI
The fight was entertaining and probably the most entertaining other than my fight with Delgado. It was one of the fights that I didn’t fall asleep on. Polakowski has pretty good hands, and I like the fact that they were slugging it out. I was surprised Roop tried to keep it standing that long with a hurt hand. I wasn’t surprised with the decision. I think Roop getting his back made it look like he was in control to the judges, even though he wasn’t really doing any damage. Position alone is what I think dictated the fight.
BEWARE THE FLYING PORK CHOP
Everyone was wondering why I was getting pissed off so much, but those guys throwing things down at us was unnecessary. If it was the other way around, they would have got mad. They were throwing spaghetti, frozen food, eggs, and it wasn’t the eggs that really made me that mad – what triggered it was that they threw a pork chop and it hit me. You can throw something like that and if it was frozen it could actually hurt you. I thought it was messed up that Krzysztof and some of the other 205ers did something to us and it was all in fun and a practical joke, but as soon as you do it to them, they get all bent out of shape.
EVERYBODY WANTS TO FIGHT JUNIE
I wasn’t surprised that the other guys wanted to fight me in the semifinals because I think everyone knew the situation. They knew our team didn’t train that hard and that my biggest downfall was my conditioning, so six weeks into the show, the other team felt like they were peaking with their conditioning. So that didn’t surprise me. To be honest, if I could’ve picked myself, I would’ve.
BROWNING VS ESCUDERO
I feel like I’m the way more talented fighter, and way more athletic. The only chance Efrain has of beating me is by taking me down and holding me. But I don’t think he’s got the ability to take me down that easy, and I’m the most well-rounded fighter, so I think I can win the fight standing or on the ground.
