This episode features one of the classic grudge fights between Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock. Also: Two fights with heavyweight vet Andrei Arlovski.

The first bout scheduled to air on Spike TV is a lightweight contest between The Ultimate Fighter Season 6 winner Mac Danzig (19-7-1) and Justin Buchholz (9-4-0).  Danzig, a one-time PRIDE fighter and former King of the Cage champion, is looking to get back on the winning track after three hard fought battles against Clay Guida, Josh Neer and Jim Miller.  Back fighting out of Los Angeles, CA, Danzig is more motivated than ever to make a run at the 155-pound crown.  To get back on track, he must stop Buchholz, an Alaska native that fights out of Sacramento, CA.  Perhaps best known for his shock of dyed orange hair, Buchholz is known for a high energy style that always results in memorable bouts.  With both warriors desperately looking to impress fight fans, viewers can expect an all out war. 

The evening’s second televised bout pits Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard (41-9-3, 1 NC) against Ronys Torres (18-1-0).  Guillard, a castmember on the second season of The Ultimate Fighter has scored six wins in the UFC, with victories against Gleison Tibau and Marcus Davis on his resume.  Now training in Albuquerque, Guillard is eager to show Torres the new tricks he’s picked up.  Winner of eight straight bouts, including three in a row via submission, Ronys Torres will be making his debut with the UFC when he takes on Guillard.  Training out of Brazil with Nova União, Torres is a well rounded fighter, with five of his wins coming via KO and seven via submission.  His range of skills will be necessary as he takes on the experienced Guillard.

Other bouts on the card might air on Spike TV, to be determined by the length of the fights.
 

The biggest sports weekend of the year gets even bigger with UFC 109: RELENTLESS.  In the main event, it’s the clash of legends UFC fans have waited ten years for when Hall of Famers Randy “The Natural” Couture and Mark “The Hammer” Coleman finally square off in a battle for the ages. The UFC's top two middleweight contenders, Nate Marquardt and Chael Sonnen, collide in a bout that will move the winner one step closer to a world title shot.  Plus, two of the game's 170-pound superstars, former champion Matt Serra and two-time title challenger Frank Trigg, meet for the first time in a pivotal matchup.

Two of the most dynamic light heavyweights in the game clash on Sunday, March 21, when Muay Thai ace Brandon “The Truth” Vera takes on dangerous 22-year-old phenom Jon “Bones” at the 1STBANK Center (formerly Odeum Colorado) in Broomfield, Colo. The fight will air live on VERSUS at 9 p.m. ET marking the debut of the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) on VERSUS and the first time that a live UFC event will air on a national sports cable network.

Two world titles will be on the line for the first time in 2010 when the Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for UFC 111: St-Pierre vs Hardy. UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has been unstoppable since regaining the title in 2008, and he aims on extending his reign and his six fight winning streak against British bomber Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy, who is unbeaten in the UFC and fresh off wins over Marcus Davis and Mike Swick.

Also, former two-time heavyweight champion Frank Mir will attempt to make history when he squares off against number one contender Shane Carwin in a clash of the titans that will leave the winner with the interim UFC heavyweight championship belt. Home to two of the first five UFC events, Charlotte, NC will once again host the premier organization in mixed martial arts on Wednesday, March 31st, as the UFC returns to Charlotte for the first time in nearly 15 years with a spectacular card at the Bojangles Coliseum featuring the lightweight showdown between two-time title challenger Kenny Florian and Japanese superstar and former PRIDE champion Takanori Gomi. This bout will headline the latest edition of Spike TV's hit UFC Fight Night series, which airs at 8 pm ET/PT.
