TUF9 Finale a Hit Among Viewers
NEW YORK, NY, June 23, 2009 – This past Saturday, June 20, the UFC was once again the undisputed champion in sports on television among young men. The live finale of the ninth season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” airing Saturday June 20 (9:00pm-12:00am), drew more men in the advertiser-coveted demographic of Men 18-34 (663,000) than MLB baseball on FOX (184,000) and coverage of U.S. Open golf on NBC (384,000) which ran earlier that day.
Ultimate Fighter Finale Musings
Michael DiSanto, UFC - The first minute of the fight was as fast and furious as any 60-second period as we have ever seen inside the Octagon. Diego Sanchez exploded out of his corner like a bat out of hell, firing punches with both fists as if the fight had a one-minute time limit. Guida was a willing participant, eating shot after shot and firing back with reckless abandon. It was an unbelievable moment. But things only got better from that point.
Sanchez Saws Through The Carpenter, Takes Split Decision Win
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - On paper, it should have been a war to remember. In reality, it was, as Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida put on a Fight of The Year candidate at The Palms Saturday night. When it was all over, someone had to take home the victory, and it was Sanchez pounding out the split decision win.
Hail Britannia! Wilks and Pearson are Ultimate Fighter Winners
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - James Wilks and Ross Pearson made it a sweep for the United Kingdom Saturday night at The Palms, as the two Brits defeated DaMarques Johnson and Andre Winner, respectively, to win their divisions of The Ultimate Fighter: Team US vs UK.

The Ultimate Fighter: US vs UK Coach's Blog - Michael Bisping
Michael 'The Count' Bisping - I am writing this from my hotel room in Las Vegas, just a couple of days away from the TUF 9 finale. I was out doing PR work at UFC 99 in Germany last weekend, so hence this blog, the last in the series ladies and gentlemen, will cover the last two episodes of TUF 9 and throw forward to Saturday's finale.
Got Heart? Frank Lester Does
Thomas Gerbasi, UFC - Losing four teeth in a professional prizefight and still having the heart to come back out for the next round is pretty hardcore. Coming back to fight again just days later is the stuff that makes folk heroes. Frank Lester, welterweight competitor on The Ultimate Fighter: Team US vs Team UK, is the man in that position right now, and despite not making it to Saturday’s 170-pound final match, he may end up being the fighter you most remember. It’s a suggestion he doesn’t necessarily agree with.
