• As a child, fled war-torn Haiti with his mother and two siblings and relocated to Canada
• Seeds of martial arts planted by his father. When Yves was a child back in Haiti his father was a huge Chuck Norris fan. Said Yves: “I bet you can go to Haiti and there isn’t one guy who doesn’t like Kung Fu movies. Every Friday around 2 or 3 o’clock in the afternoon they used to show old Kung Fu movies and the streets were empty.”
• Gifted Painter (holds a college degree in illustration, design and 3D animation).
• His professional experience includes creating 3D animation for TV commercials, movies and video games. “I can build the character, I can make him move, make him talk, give him life,” Jabouin said.
• Speaks three languages: English, French, Creole
• Very skilled kickboxer – his 2010 fight against Mark Hominick was as technically brilliant and beautiful a standup war as you will ever see in MMA.
• Ten year pro
• Earned WEC Fight of the Night honors in bout with Hominick
• Has faced Sam Stout and Jonathan Brookins in non WEC / UFC bouts
