TRAINING: My typical day consists of 2 sessions, morning and evening. That could involve anything from BJJ then Kickboxing or strength and conditioning and wrestling or boxing. There’s even a Pilates session at Lucias Pilates thrown in there some days...
Thoughts on opponent, Neil Seery? I’m really excited about fighting Neil; he brings a great pace and exciting style and he loves to get in your face and use his hands. I love to box, so it’s gonna be a cracker.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I loved the individual components of MMA - boxing and BJJ - and trained them to stay fit for my surfing career. I started competing in both and it led to MMA.
What ranks and titles have you held? PWP bantamweight title, Combat8 bantamweight title and team member for Australia as a lightweight in 'The Smashes' TUF
Do you have any heroes? BJ Penn, the ANZACS, Les Darcy
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s the pinnacle of the sport that I have fell in love with and dedicated my last seven years to. It’s a huge honor to be part of the UFC.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No - I finished high school though.
What was your job before you started fighting? Professional big wave surfer and also finished my trade as a carpet layer.
Ranks in any martial arts styles: BJJ purple belt, black belt carpet layer...
