Biography

TRAINING: It's like all the other days - a lot of striking, wrestling and jiu-jitsu, because we need to be prepared for everything.

When and why did you start training for fighting? Five years ago. It’s because it is in my blood. I decided to move on from Jiu-jitsu to look for a new way to challenge myself in a new world with a combination of different sets of skills.

What ranks and titles have you held? I got a BRFC title in Brazil, and an X-fight title, also in Brasil.

Do you have any heroes? Yes, Jesus is my hero!!!

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It's a dream coming true! Not just my dream, but it’s the dream of all MMA fighters to someday have the opportunity to fight in the UFC. And I will work hard to remain there.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to a Law school in Brazil for six years. But I let go everything just to focus on MMA.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was working in a stock market, buying and selling stocks.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. In 2010, when I was competing in jiu-jitsu tournaments, I was in the top three in the world.

Favorite grappling technique: Armbar

Favorite striking technique: Kicks and a powerful right hand
