Biography

TRAINING: A typical day of training includes 3-5 individual workout sessions within that include traditional, technical, cardio, strength and intense MMA training.

Thoughts on opponent, Tom Breese? I respect Tom and his skill set, but my time is NOW. He challenged my highest level in that cage and he is going to face it, unfortunately for him, as I hand him his second loss in the process.

When and why did you start training for fighting?
Since I was about maybe six in regard to teaching myself via martial arts movies. (Laughs) When I was 12, I was introduced to Karate and took it for a year via a free program my middle school had. That program later closed down and when I asked my parents to help fund and plug me into Karate further, they told me to focus on my studies. When I got my first job at 16/17 at McDonald’s, I decided to fund myself in Taekwondo. I never stopped training in Taekwondo. I later picked up and expanded on my MMA skills when I entered college at SUNY Morrisville and Oneonta via a sports club. After I graduated, I never stopped investing in my hobby and here I am today. #FightForYourDream

What ranks and titles have you held?
Ring of Combat 185-lb Champion, black belt in Taekwondo, purple belt in BJJ, moderate to high rank under Luis Azeredo's Chute Boxe Muay Thai System and various medals in Taekwondo and BJJ tournaments

Do you have any heroes?
Jesus Christ, my biological father, Luis Azeredo, Jean Claude Van Damme, Kobe Bryant, Tim Tebow and forgive me for stating this (Laughs) – Goku. You can say I'm a Nigerian version of him.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?
Everything. My short and long-term endeavors all connected to me being in the UFC first, and God somehow made a way.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
I have an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Morrisville State College, a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies from SUNY Oneonta and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Alfred University.

What was your job before you started fighting?
Urban Youth Counselor, High school Counselor, MMA Instructor/Coach and a Security guard.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition?
New Jersey has the best commission when it comes to amateur competition within MMA. I faced some of my toughest opponents as an amateur, so when I made that transition to the pros, it was a piece of cake. Thanks Nick. For you up and coming mixed martial artists, work hard and if you have a chance to compete in New Jersey as an amateur, do it. You'll thank me later, as well as the NJ state commission
