Biography
TRAINING: My AM session consists of cardio such as running, swimming, plyometrics, speed and agility, followed by weight and circuit training. To end my morning session I complete an hour of Yoga. My PM session consists of grappling, wrestling, sparring, and MMA training.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training right out of high school when I was 18 years old with Jeff and Team Curran. I loved to compete in wrestling, so this was a way to continue down that similar road.
What ranks and titles have you held? No ranks, no titles....just lots of hard fights.
Do you have any heroes? Nobody comes to mind... I look up to my dad a lot though.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? This is huge for me. It’s a good feeling to make it here. It just feels right.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I am three classes from my first degree. Fighting seems to take the front seat a lot.
What was your job before you started fighting? I always coached wrestling and worked full-time during my career. Most recently for the past couple years I have been running a horse farm.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I was undefeated, 4-0....no titles
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? I won some really tough fights at an early age against good opponents such as Eric Davila.
Ranks in any martial arts styles: I have been putting off my blue belt test for about four years now, lol. I have that to come in November under Jeff.
Favorite grappling technique: Takedowns
Favorite Striking technique: Right Cross
