Biography

TRAINING: I train seven days a week - sometimes three times in one day sometimes once a day. I train often but I train smart and still allow my body to recover. I mix in a lot of crossfit, strength and conditioning, elastic band and balance work, and flexibility training on top of my technique, sparring, and pad work. I'm training all the angles for this fight so I can have the competitive edge anywhere.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started wrestling when I was four and started Judo at seven. Then I stopped judo in high school to only focus on wrestling. I have been doing combat sports ever since. It is my life.

What ranks and titles have you held? Purple belt in jiu-jitsu, purple belt in judo, two-time Texas state champion in wrestling, high school double All-American, national champ in wrestling at age six.

Do you have any heroes? My Father, Jesus, GSP

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?
It means a great deal to me. I have been fighting to reach this level for seven years. I have been through many trials and hardships to get here, so it is truly gratifying to fight for the UFC.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX with a degree in psychology.

What was your job before you started fighting? Life Insurance Agent
