Biography

TRAINING: Training starts with Paul Craig banging on my door shouting “Housekeeping” at 5am. Then it’s up and in the gym for conditioning at 6am. Then food and rest and I’m ready for the second session. It’s normally a lighter session, drilling one of the many arts that make up MMA, depending on the daily routine. Then it’s in the gym again in the evening for sparring, drilling, wrestling, BJJ, etc, depending on the day.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training later on at the age of 25. It was a turning point for me; I needed some focus and drive and martial arts gave me exactly that.

What ranks and titles have you held? Currently ranked No. 2 in the UK. Also, undisputed BAMMA HW world champion.

Do you have any heroes? If we’re talking MMA, it would have to be the likes of Chuck Liddell and Dan Henderson.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? Getting to the UFC has been a lifelong dream. It really does mean the world to me.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I had numerous degrees - nothing I really took further. I was always a hands-on guy, so I got straight into construction once I left school.

What was your job before you started fighting? I had my own business in the plastering trade.

Favorite grappling technique: I love all forms of grappling - I don't really have a favorite technique as such.

Favorite Striking technique: Any form of head kick - a head kick KO is my dream finish.

  • Origin of nickname: “Nickname came about after numerous KOs.”
