When and why did you start training for fighting? In 2005, I had a friend in college who asked me to come try this BJJ class out. I didn’t know what it was, but I was up for anything. So I went and that is where I met Justin “The Viking” Wren. He and I got along great, became roommates and he really introduced me to the sport of MMA. I thought this might be something I could be good at, and I started training with him.
What ranks and titles have you held? #1 ranked heavyweight in Colorado for the last two years, 2010 advanced No-Gi heavyweight champ, Clash of the Titans heavyweight champ as an amateur, three-time Sparta Combat League heavyweight champ, and most recently the RFA heavyweight champ

• Origin of nickname – “I was driving home from practice with my former coach Trevor one day, and I told him that (my teammate) Alvin (Robinson) called me a “Bear” during wrestling practice. I said I didn’t like that name because I’m more of a “cuddly bear.” Trevor said “I love it, there you go, you’re the Cuddly Bear.”
