Biography

TRAINING: Striking in the morning, conditioning and/or grappling at night

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started in 2001 because I wanted to fight one particular girl on a poorly run local event

What ranks and titles have you held?
FCF Grand Prix champion, The Cage Inc 140lb champ. Been ranked in the top 10 for most of my career

Do you have any heroes? None

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?
I started fighting when no one knew what MMA was and you signed up at the door. If you were lucky, you got a couple hundred bucks at the end of the night. It is a special thing to still be active and competitive during this time, experiencing the growth of WMMA now being on the biggest stage available.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Three years, but didn't finish. I studied religion.

What was your job before you started fighting? UPS

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Certified in catch wrestling, brown belt in BJJ, apprentice instructor level in Muay Thai

Favorite grappling technique: Crooked head scissor or cobra twist

Favorite striking technique: Knees
