Biography
TRAINING: Working every day with Brazilian Top Team
When and why did you start training for fighting? In 1999. It was when I started watching Royce Gracie fights on some tapes. Then I saw that the UFC brought professionalism to MMA, so I saw the sport as the chance of my life.
What ranks and titles have you held? I won the Face to Face in 2011, the Trophy Brazil of the ADCC in 2012 and the Belt of the Bitetti Combat in 2012.
Do you have any heroes? My mother, for sure, Mrs. Carmelha Martins. And coach Eraldo Paes, who passed away last year.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a chance of a lifetime, not only for me, but for my family too. Martial Arts was my school, my college. Getting to the UFC it means like I’m getting a job to be an executive director.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I finished High School then I went to “MMA College”
What was your job before you started fighting? I did a bunch of things, everything to help my family. I have worked as a waiter, security, driver, taxi driver, fixing cars as a mechanic.
Favorite grappling technique: Leg Locks and anaconda choke
Favorite Striking technique: Low Kicks
