In the quarterfinals, Bruchez was submitted in the first round via armbar by Vinicius Magalhaes.
On episode one, Bruchez submitted Eric Magee with a rear naked choke in the first round.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I began training around 3 years ago. Throughout my life I played sports. I saw my first UFC Fight during my senior year in high school. At that moment, I knew that fighting was something I always wanted to do, but there were not any local resources for MMA training. When the opportunity was finally given to me, I quickly took advantage of it. It is also a great way to stay in shape. I was in karate when I was younger and I missed that one on one competition.

What titles have you held? Unfortunately, Louisiana has just recently introduced a belt system and due to TUF 08 I have not been able to participate in any of these events.
Do you have any heroes? Yes, first and foremost my hero is Jesus Christ. Not only because I believe that he is my savior but because he truly loved everyone, even his own enemies. Unlike me, when I’m competing all I can think about doing is beating the guy in front of me. I strive everyday to be more like him, I have a long way to go.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? To fight in the UFC is a dream come true, and I have many different reasons. First, I fight because I love the competition, I love the continuous battles I put myself through. Each fight is a test on how good of an athlete I am. Fighting for the UFC is where I will be tested at my highest level over and over. I couldn’t live with myself being in another organization and being undefeated. Sounds stupid uh? Its NOT! To me I wouldn’t feel complete unless I’m tested by the best - if you want to be the best you have to beat the best!!! The only way I can do that is to be in the top organization, the UFC. The other reason is the money but not for me, but for my family who needs it, and for my community, such as homeless shelters and poor people. The third reason why I want to be in the UFC is to use my status to reach out and help kids. Like Boys and Girls clubs and talking to the schools about staying away from drugs and violence.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in Visual Arts Graphic Animation.

What was your job before you started fighting? Personal Trainer/ Strength coach

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition?
There are two fights that stand out; the first was my first fight. I beat this boy bad, real bad; I had blood all over me. When I left the ring people didn’t want to even shake my hand they just looked at me with a look on there face like “who the #$% is this guy”. It was great, I loved it. The other one was when my guy didn’t make weight so I took a fight at the last minute. I weighed in at 208 and he showed up at a whopping 250+. When I finished him I was in an upside down armbar after he just slammed me. The whole place went crazy!!!! Everyone was touching me and wanting pictures. It was the best feeling I had in an amateur fight.

Specific accomplishments in pro competition? I never had fought pro before the Ultimate Fighter so my greatest accomplishment was winning the fight to get in the house. I never will forget it - I cried so much the other guys in the back thought I lost.
