Biography

TRAINING: Morning run, drill or sparring, night strength and conditioning

Thoughts on opponent, Jarred Brooks? I think he is a great wrestler, but not a great MMA fighter. I’m here to put on a performance, not a wrestling match. He is tough and relentless. Because of my style of fighting, I expect to see the best Jarred Brooks yet.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started when I was four years old and I did it because I wanted to become a hero and fight evil like my role models I watched on TV (Goku from Dragonball Z and Tommy Oliver [White Ranger] from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).

What ranks and titles have you held? Amateur - Muay Thai National Champion, Kickboxing International champion, 2x Pan American Kickboxing Gold Medalist, 100+ collegiate wrestling wins, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American, 2x United States Mixed Martial Arts National Champion (UMMAF), 2x International Mixed Martial Arts Federation World Champion (IMMAF)

Professional – Two-division Titan FC Flyweight and Bantamweight Champion, 3 title defenses, opponents had a combined record of 63-23-2.

Do you have any heroes? My coach/ mentor/ father figure/ and best friend Master Bob Schirmer.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream come true. A lifetime of work has finally paid off.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I graduated from McKendree University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Sports and Exercise Science

What was your job before you started fighting? Pizza delivery boy

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Black belt in Shotokan Karate and a brown belt in Combat-Do (Judo / Japanese Jiu-Jitsu)

Favorite grappling technique: Any five-point throw

Favorite Striking technique: Left hook to the body
